Where You Are

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:1-2
What do you desire most in your life? What things create that need or passion for you to move forward? Is it food, shelter, money, our spouse or other things we can reach out and touch? Is something spiritual? Often it’s just the physical things that cause us to act.
You know we have something so much greater than all of those physical things combined. A Creator God that desires a deep, intimate relationship with us (1 Corinthians 1:9). We have a Savior that came down from heaven, lived a perfect life and died that horrific death on a cross, because He loves us. We have a God that desires to be close to us! (1 Peter 3:18)
The things of this world are temporary, we are temporary (Psalm 144:4), but God’s love is eternal. The things that seem to satisfy us physically here on earth will eventually run out. They will leave us hungry for more, thirsting for more. But if we thirst for the things that will last forever (Matthew 6:33), Jesus said he would give us Living Water and we would thirst no more (John 4:14). If we hunger for the Bread of Life, He will fill us and satisfy us. We must hunger and thirst for God.
O God, you are my God! I long for you! My soul thirsts for you, my flesh yearns for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. Psalms 63:1
Pursue The Lord! Chase after Him! He will be found (Jeremiah 29:12-14). He will satisfy your soul as He rains down his Mercy and pours out His love. The blessings that follow will overflow into beautiful worship as you respond to His goodness. As you enter into His presence, His love, His mercy and as His Holy Fire fills your heart. Long for Him, wait for Him and be satisfied!
But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works. Psalms 73:28
